Dallas Jordan

Jackson, MS | Ewing's Sarcoma

Dallas Jordan began noticing pain in her leg and hip that lingered for several months. Then, at the beginning of her 8th grade year at Jackson Prep, the pain intensified. An MRI revealed a mass in her femur and she was immediately sent to the Children’s Cancer Center. There she was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a cancer of the bone or soft tissue. She began an intense chemotherapy regiment that would remove about 95% of the tumor. Six months later, Dallas underwent hip and femur replacement surgery followed by several more chemo treatments. In August 2015, Dallas was declared to be cancer free.

Dallas still visits Batson Children’s Hospital regularly for check-ups and physical therapy. She also loves to volunteer in the child life activity rooms to help other kids in her free time. Dallas is currently in 11th grade at Jackson Prep and looks forward to college after high school.
